How to Create a Lookbook with Plain Jane

A lookbook gives your campaign images and copy their own space instead of squeezing them into a product collection. The confusing part is knowing where to build that page without sending the same collage across the rest of your store.

Should a Shopify lookbook be a page or a collection?

Create a dedicated Shopify page and assign its intended page template so your lookbook remains separate from templates used for product collections.

Start at Online Store → Pages → Add page. Enter a title, save, and assign an image-focused page template. Creating the page is not enough — if Lookbook content sits on a template used by collections, the collage follows those collections.

In Plain Jane, assign a lookbook page template (up to 9 lookbooks; they are duplicates of the same layout), save, and open that template in the theme editor. The Lookbook section has eight image slots.

If the collage already leaked onto a T-shirt or hoodie collection, remove Lookbook from the shared collection template and keep it only on the dedicated lookbook page.

How do I add images to a Shopify lookbook page?

Open the assigned lookbook template in the theme editor, select Lookbook, and fill each Lookbook Item image slot with a campaign photo.

Go to Online Store → Themes → Edit theme, open the assigned lookbook template, and choose its image section. If the section is missing, check which template is assigned to the page.

In Plain Jane, select Lookbook, open a Lookbook Item, and use Image to fill each slot. Title and Description sit above the grid. Clicking a grid image opens a full-screen slider at that photo. An empty slot shows one of eight bundled placeholders — replace those before you publish.

What if I want a fullscreen look instead?

Add the finished lookbook to your store menu

Add your Lookbook page as a menu item under Content → Menus, save, and test the storefront link.

Go to Content → Menus, add a menu item, and choose your Lookbook page. Shopify fills the Name field with the page title unless you typed another label. Save the menu and test the link.
